8-day sail-away - Final Scare!

8-day sail-away - Final Scare!

As our cruise was winding down to our last two days at sea, Tommy was solely focused on “tommy’s house”. He studied the map even more closely and began to tell us to the day when we would arrive home! LOL

Tommy loves Cat in the Hat and I may have mentioned that he and other characters were aboard this sailing. Although we did not make plans to eat “green eggs and ham” with him for breakfast; as if Tommy would have eaten that! LOL, we did take some photos and watched a special story time of “Horton Hears a Who” in the theatre!

We tried to explore some other areas of the ship on our return home along with our continued family dinners and nightly entertainment. On Saturday we also did some shopping and attended the “Thriller Dance Class” in the atrium. It was at this point that our pretty relaxing cruise got even more rocky than our speed boat ride! Tommy decided to go on a “walk-about”. He was sitting on the couch next to Heath enjoying a coke, then came and stood and danced with me. But when I looked around to him again, he was GONE! The immediate fear that rises up in a mom of a normal child, tripled in me… I understand for all of those that would say, “YOU KNOW HE IS ON THIS SHIP,” You are correct, but this is a really big ship, and he is not just going to answer when called or ask for help to find us… Thankfully traveling with family helps in the search. I decided to start with the stairs. Ran them up to our room looking at the elevator areas on each to make sure I did not see him getting on or off. I then rode the atrium glass elevator back down, scanning each level as I went. Customer Service was notified and told his name and what he was wearing so that the staff could report back if they saw him. As mentioned, we all just scattered and at about the 30-minute mark his aunt found him and facetimed to let us know.

He had made his way to the CASINO!! Fancy lights were the draw, I am sure…

We were located on deck three mid ship. He was found towards the back of deck five. I feel that he possibly walked up the winding staircase in the atrium which we had walked down to get to this class, but who knows, the elevators were there too, and he could have just got off when the doors opened… All in all, he was found, and he was okay.

I had every emotion possible once I got to him… Even though he did not know what the fuss was all about or why we were all gathered around him, He knew it was a serious moment and immediately said, “I am so sorry” and “I don’t walk away” …

*** RIGHT BEFORE HIS WALK ABOUT!

Bless his heart and mine, he had mentioned french fries to me and I guess he just thought he would go and get them himself! When it comes to issues with this kid, it normally is related to food in some way! After all of this, our next stop was in fact for french fries, followed by some chill time for Heath and I that included a nap!! LOL

We got all packed and placed our suitcases out for pick up and headed to dinner! We enjoyed the last show and were very thankful for our adventures and time spent with family.

Love your family and keep them close! Until our next adventure -

-God Bless
