A Blue Bell kind of Wedding!

A Blue Bell kind of Wedding!

The invitations were sent, and we were invited to Brenham, Texas for a wedding. The bride is a longtime friend of our daughter, Kahlyn. I blessed her with a nickname and to this day, she is Hannah Gayle! Kahlyn and our grandson, Reagan were in the wedding party. This just gave us another reason to attend this special event.

The only thing that I knew about Brenham, Texas was that there was blue bell factory located there! We thought that incorporating a trip to the factory with Tommy would be a whole new type of adventure for us!

With everything planned we now needed to find a place to park the “Freedom” and we did just that! We located a small park just off the highway close to the wedding venue that was perfect! It only had a few rv spots and it was so quiet and peaceful with rolling hills and beautiful sunsets.

On to ice cream…

Unfortunately, Tommy does not really like ice cream. He will take a lick or two from a DQ cone, but then he is done… So sad!! LOL cause Heath and I were looking forward to the creamy cold treat! We arrived with only a couple of hours before they closed. We took a few pictures along the way as we made it upstairs to the parlor area. As soon as we get off the elevator, we see a Christmas scene set up. I’m not sure but looks like they may have been preparing for Santa to visit as it was early December. And he is always watching!

Isn’t it funny how Christmas always seems to find Tommy!

There were several photo opportunities, including a 1930’s antique ford truck delivery truck.

Upstairs. we visited the observation deck with large windows where you could see the assembly line as the workers were packaging and labeling the different flavors for distribution. Ice cream in the parlor was $1.00 per scoop - what a deal! There were two decent size areas with table and chairs where visitors could sit and enjoy their treats. They also have a gift shop where Tommy found him a new animal friend.

Lastly on the factory grounds a visitors center displayed some of the old slogans and advertisements used in blue bell past commercials. They brought a chuckle to me, and I will show some of them below. if you get the opportunity, I hope you stop by the factory to look around and get a sweet treat for yourself!

A storm blew in…

and the rain began. The wedding was set to be outdoors and with tears of disappointment the bride knew that relocating needed to happen. The groom and groomsmen took their task very seriously and got everything set up inside the venue and it turned out beautifully! Little Reagan ended up slipping and hitting his head, so he did not make it down the aisle for his grand ring bearer entrance, but he looked stylish for pictures afterwards!

We had a tremendous time celebrating with the newly married couple and enjoyed spending time with the family. Thanks for the invite, Hannah Gayle!

-God Bless
