Welcome to Hurricane Season!

Welcome to Hurricane Season!

Seems that all great plans sometimes get changed. We have had to cancel our first trip to www.walnutpondrvpark.com. They were very understanding and have been watching the weather themselves. I believe them to be gracious hosts and we will make plans to visit them in the future.

Storm Preparation

As we plan to just sit tight through the storm, we will still enjoy our “Freedom”. Picked up provisions today and we will live by the generator and enjoy our family time. Talks should include our next adventure plans!

Stay tuned and safe if you are also in the path of the storm.

And Just like that… The weather changes!

Hope you’re still reading because the trip is back on… More thrown together now, but ON none the less!

The trip was good, somewhat stressful as we voyaged with this wind sail called Freedom in tow. As the weather changes, so does my husbands desires for a 3/4 ton truck! LOL

Review the Park

The RV park was wonderful. The host / owners were so gracious as we had originally suspected. The RV spots had level concrete pads that left little work for setup. That could certainly spoil us!

You will see from my photos, it was quaint, small and clean. Tommy had some great new experiences. Fed the ducks, turtle and fish in their pond.

There was also an awesome display of the stars in the night sky that we so enjoyed. Gods beautiful artwork was always in plain view. Butterflies, birds and the beautiful rainbow for our safe travels home.

Family Visits

My parents were along with us for our first adventure. They themselves are past RV-ers and being there and being supportive eased our 1st travel jitters! We also have relatives in Palestine near the park that I had previously mentioned in our “First Plans” that we were able to meet up and visit with. What a blessing!

T2C Rodeo

If you also followed the “First Plans” blog, you will remember my mentioning our desires to attend the Rodeo while we were in town. Well, we did and what fun Tommy had. The church family and rodeo contestants were most welcoming. We all wanted to make sure that Tommy was able to see the cows and horses, which is all he talked about since we left home!

His bravery amazes me. As I watched him wave and say “hi horse”, I turned back to look again and he had approached two horses and began to pet them. Luckily there were two young boys sitting on them and they remained there for Tommy to continue to pet them. I believe even the horse loved the attention.

So, If you are in the area and looking for some options on a Sunday. I would recommend Trail to Christ Cowboy Church on Highway 79 Jacksonville, Texas. Come as you are and let them minister to you.

Impression

Our first trip was a success, Tommy came home and made a rodeo arena with his animals and blocks and had the cows in the shoot waiting. He was out of his little world and in ours for the weekend. This is exactly what he needs!

God Bless -
