Meeting someone special…

While we were at Mill Creek Park, we met a special young man. We will keep him anonymous and refer to him as “D”. There seemed to be a kindred spirit connection with Tommy. I am not sure, but think that D may have had some challenges, and he sensed Tommy’s as well. He looked about 13 which is the same as Tommy, although Tommy does not look 13!

I watched in amazement as D began making sand animals at the swim beach of the park. He was so engaged and particular. I told him what a great job he did. He received my praise with such gratitude. I asked him if I could take a picture and he was glad for me to!

D began to ask me questions pertaining to Tommy. Of course, Tommy had brought his dolphin and shark friends with him for swimming and D noticed. He wanted to know if Tommy liked dolphins and I expressed to him, “very much”.

D told me that he would like to make Tommy a dolphin in the sand and he was not sure exactly how to make the tail, but he would do his best! In the meantime, he also asked me for the spelling of Tommy’s name and wrote it in the sand as well above the turtle. I did not get the finished picture of the dolphin, but it looked great as well.
